Stewards
Volunteer as a Steward at St. Augustine’s
We warmly invite you to join our team of stewards at St. Augustine’s Church.
As a steward, your primary role is to welcome people to the celebration of Holy Mass. You are the first face they see upon entering our Church, and a friendly smile or warm greeting can make all the difference—especially for someone feeling uncertain or in need of encouragement.
Each week, we welcome at least one new family to our Church. They may be new to Daventry, to our country, or even to the faith itself. Your presence helps create a welcoming environment, offering reassurance and an opportunity to answer any questions they may have.
Why is this role important?
We are all called to be missionaries, and being a steward is a meaningful way to live out that mission. In addition to welcoming others, stewards play a vital role in ensuring the health and safety of all parishioners attending Mass.
Roles of a Steward:
-
Welcoming parishioners
-
General ushering and assistance
-
Supporting the distribution of Holy Communion
Instructions for stewards are available in the church porch for further guidance.
If you would like to help at Mass, please email the Parish Office at parish.staugustinedav@northamptondiocese.org, indicating which Mass you are available to support. We are especially in need of stewards for the 10:30 AM Mass.
Thank you for considering this opportunity to serve!
